1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and HifzMate. By downloading, opening or using the HifzMate app, or by using this website, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data and forms part of these Terms.

2. Who we are

HifzMate is a Qur'an memorization and revision app developed and operated by Noor AI, an independent software studio based in Türkiye. You can reach us at hello@hifzmate.app, or for data matters at privacy@hifzmate.app.

3. Eligibility, age and parental consent

HifzMate is designed for learners roughly aged 10 to 70, and the app adapts to the age you enter during setup:

• Under 13 — the profile must be created and managed by a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on the child's behalf.
• Ages 13–17 — parental consent is required during setup, and the person giving consent accepts these Terms with the user.
• 18 and over — full access to all features.

On child profiles, the cloud voice check is switched off entirely and social or leaderboard features are disabled. You agree to give an accurate date of birth; the protections above depend on it. The app stores you install from may set their own minimum age requirements, which also apply.

4. What HifzMate is — and what it is not

HifzMate gives you a structured memorization curriculum (sabak, sabkî and manzil), a spaced-repetition revision schedule, a mushaf reader, similar-verse (mutashabihat) comparisons and optional AI feedback on your recitation. It is a personal study tool.

Nothing in the app is legal, medical or professional advice, and we are not affiliated with any mosque, institution or the projects whose data we credit.

5. Qur'anic text and religious content

The Qur'anic text in HifzMate is taken only from established, verified sources — the Quran.com API, the Quranic Universal Library (QUL) and Tanzil. We do not type, edit or generate Qur'anic text or its diacritics, and we never ask an AI model to produce it. Translations, word-by-word meanings, tafsir excerpts and tajweed markup come from the same sources and remain the work of their respective authors and publishers.

We take accuracy seriously, but we cannot warrant that every character, translation or tajweed mark rendered on your screen is free of error. If you believe you have found a mistake in the text, please tell us at hello@hifzmate.app so we can check it against the source and correct it. When memorizing, verify against a printed mushaf.

6. The AI recitation check and its limits

The app offers two distinct, optional checks. We describe them precisely because their limits matter:

Both checks depend on machine models, on your microphone and on your surroundings. They will sometimes be wrong in both directions — flagging a correct reading as an error, or missing a real mistake. Use the feedback as a study hint. Do not treat it as confirmation that a portion is memorized correctly, and do not rely on it in place of listening by a qualified teacher.

The checks need an internet connection and are subject to the quotas in section 10. If a recitation cannot be evaluated, the app tells you so rather than inventing a result. Reading, memorizing and revising continue to work offline.

7. Your device, your data, no account

HifzMate currently has no accounts and no cloud backup. Your progress, revision schedule, notes, bookmarks, settings and date of birth are stored on your device. That means we cannot see them, cannot restore them, and cannot move them to a new device for you.

You are responsible for your device and for keeping it secure. If you uninstall the app, reset the device or lose it, your memorization history is gone. If we introduce optional accounts and sync later, we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy before that feature ships.

8. Free plan, Premium and billing

Reading the mushaf, following your daily plan, memorizing and revising are available on the free plan. HifzMate Premium is an optional paid subscription that unlocks unlimited AI listening and hidden-verse mode, the full sabak / sabkî / manzil curriculum, complete heatmap and analytics, mutashabihat and voice self-test.

• Where you pay. Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under that store's terms. We never see or handle your payment details.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal is charged to your store account.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store you purchased from, according to its policy. We cannot issue a refund for a store purchase ourselves, though we will help where we can.
• Prices. Prices, currencies and any regional pricing are shown in the app before you buy and may change over time. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we will give notice as the store requires.
• Free trials and offers, where offered, convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand.

9. Rewarded ads

HifzMate does not show banner or interstitial ads, and it never shows advertising on the mushaf or during recitation. The only advertising is rewarded and opt-in: you may choose to watch a short ad in exchange for an extra AI check.

Watching is always your choice, and declining costs you nothing beyond that extra check. Rewards are granted on your device and have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and may expire or be adjusted. Rewarded ads are not offered on child profiles.

10. Fair use and quotas

Each AI recitation check costs us money to run, so the free plan includes a limited number of checks per day, and Premium is subject to fair-use limits intended to stop automated or abusive volumes rather than to restrict genuine study. The app applies a daily request counter to prevent abuse of the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may adjust these limits as costs and usage change, and we may suspend access to the AI checks — without affecting offline features — where usage appears automated, fraudulent or aimed at circumventing quotas.

11. Acceptable use

Please use HifzMate for personal study. You agree not to:

• copy, resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app or its content, or make it available as a service to others;
• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code, credentials or API keys, except where that right cannot be excluded by law;
• call our processing endpoints outside the app, script or automate requests, or attempt to bypass quotas, paywalls or the child-profile restrictions;
• scrape, bulk-download or re-publish the Qur'anic text, translations, tajweed data or audio delivered through the app;
• upload audio you have no right to submit, or audio that is not your own recitation being checked;
• interfere with, overload or probe the security of our services or those of our providers;
• use the app unlawfully, or in a way that damages, disparages or misrepresents HifzMate — including presenting its output as certification of memorization.

12. Intellectual property and licences

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use HifzMate on devices you own or control, for your own study. That licence does not transfer ownership of anything.

• Ours. The app, its interface, name, logo, curriculum design, revision engine and original text remain our property or that of our licensors.
• Third-party content. Qur'anic text, translations, word-by-word meanings, tajweed markup and recitation audio are provided under the terms of the Quran.com API, QUL and Tanzil, and remain with their owners. Recitations remain the work of their reciters.
• Fonts. Amiri, Amiri Qur'an and Readex Pro are used under the SIL Open Font License.
• Yours. Your recordings, notes and progress are yours. We claim no ownership of them, and we do not use your recordings to train models. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to process a recording you submit in order to return your feedback.

If you believe something in HifzMate infringes your rights, write to hello@hifzmate.app with the details and we will look into it promptly.

13. App stores and third parties

HifzMate relies on a small number of providers — Supabase, Groq and Modal for the recitation checks, and Cloudflare for this website and our email — as set out in the Privacy Policy. Their availability is outside our control.

Where you obtain the app from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not with Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or for any claim relating to it; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you. Similar terms apply to Google Play and its own policies. You also confirm you are not located in a country subject to an applicable embargo that would prohibit your use of the app.

14. Availability and changes to the app

We work to keep HifzMate available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and features that depend on external providers or paid processing may be modified, limited or withdrawn. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription includes, we will give reasonable notice and you may cancel through your store.

15. Ending your use

You may stop at any time: cancel any subscription in your store, delete your data from the app's Privacy & data screen, and uninstall the app. Because your data lives on your device, deleting it there is immediate and final.

We may suspend or end access to the AI checks or the app where these Terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, or where required by law or by an app store. Sections that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law — continue to apply after your use ends.

16. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

In particular, we do not warrant that the AI feedback is accurate or complete, that the app will correctly identify every error in your recitation, that memorization outcomes will follow from using it, or that data stored only on your device will survive device loss, reset or uninstallation.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and if you are a consumer you keep all mandatory rights under the consumer law of your country of residence.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for lost data or lost progress, or for reliance on AI feedback that turned out to be wrong. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or to any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and consumer arbitration committees of Türkiye have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country, and you may also bring proceedings in your local courts where that law allows.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the app develops — for example when accounts, sync or real billing are introduced. The current version always appears on this page with its date, and material changes will also be surfaced in the app. Continuing to use HifzMate after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
