Your data, your call
Delete your account and data
App: HifzMate (app.hifzmate) · Last updated 5 August 2026
The short version
- An account is optional — the whole app works without one.
- Deleting your account removes it, and everything stored with it, from our servers straight away.
- Voice recordings are never uploaded, so there is nothing of them to delete on our side.
- Can't sign in any more? Email us and we will delete it for you.
On this page
1. Delete your account from inside the app
Open HifzMate and go to Profile → Account → Delete my account. You will be asked to confirm. The deletion runs on our servers and is permanent — there is no undo and no grace period.
You can only delete your own account: the request is authenticated with your own session, so nobody can delete somebody else's.
2. Delete the data on your device
Progress, notes and recordings also live on the phone itself, and they stay there even if you never made an account. To wipe them, go to Profile → Privacy, where you can remove things separately — recordings, downloaded audio — or use Delete all my data to clear everything at once.
If cloud backup is on, turn it off as part of deleting. The app does this for you: otherwise the next sync would simply download everything back and undo the deletion. When you switch backup off, the app also asks whether the copy in your account should be deleted.
Uninstalling the app also removes everything it stored on the device.
3. Ask us by email
Lost access to the account, or can't open the app? Write to privacy@hifzmate.app from the email address you signed in with, with the subject “Delete my account”. Sending it from that address is what lets us confirm the account is yours — we will not act on a request we cannot tie to the account.
We answer within 30 days and normally much sooner.
4. What is deleted, and what is kept
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Account (name, email address, account ID from Google or Apple) | Deleted from our authentication provider immediately. |
| Backed-up memorization progress, revision schedule, bookmarks, notes, streaks and settings | Deleted with the account. |
| Everything on the device | Removed by “Delete all my data”, or by uninstalling the app. |
| Voice recordings | Never uploaded or backed up. When you use the AI recitation check the audio is sent for processing and discarded — it is not stored, so nothing remains to delete. |
| Abuse-prevention counters | Daily request counts, kept briefly so one device cannot exhaust a service we pay for. Not linked to any profile and not used to identify you. |
| Purchase records | Subscriptions are billed by Google Play. Deleting your HifzMate account does not cancel a subscription and does not erase Google's own billing records, which they keep for tax and accounting reasons. Manage or cancel a subscription in the Google Play Store. |
